SEMAPHORE GLADE
Splore festival, Tapapakanga Regional Park, New Zealand
February 2010

Semaphore Glade is designed and built by Dry Dairy for the summer outdoor festival Splore 2010. It is a large pavilion that is made out of recycled billboard fabric and cardboard tubes, and consists multiple small units which can be used individually. The site is situated at the end of a track from the campsite with view to the beach, the markets as well as the stages. The pavilion identifies the site as a point of dispersement, acting as a thoroughfare with generously spaced columns and shelters, also stunningly colourful, changing light shades at night.
